This original 1963 Chevrolet Corvette 'Split Window' Coupe is one of only 10,594 examples of the most iconic Corvette produced for the 1963 model year. The Bill Mitchell-designed and Zora Duntov-powered Corvette is still among the most sought-after models of the true American sports car.
This Corvette's GM official production date was January 30th, 1963, according to the NCRS Shipping Data Report, and it was delivered new to Blair Chevrolet in Island Park, NY. This Split Window Corvette was ordered with and retains its numbers-matching optional L76 Solid Lifter High-Performance 327/340HP engine, which included a factory aluminum intake manifold, solid lifter camshaft, 11.25:1 engine compression ratio, and topped with a Carter aluminum-bodied AFB 4-barrel carburetor. It is backed by a Borg Warner T-10 4-speed manual transmission and a Code G81 Posi-traction rear axle, showcasing that performance was a priority. The box was also checked for Code U65 Signal Seeking AM Radio and 670x15 Blackwall Tires.
